Back for a third issue, the Palau Scarab series pays tribute to the significant personalities of Ancient Egypt in the form of a fantastic ultra high relief silver coins. The 2023 issue honours the creator of one of the named wonders of the world, Khufu. Khufu is best known by his Greek name Cheops and he was the 2nd pharaoh of the 4th Dynasty, ruling during the 3rd millennium BC. He began work on the Great Pyramid of Giza almost immediately after assuming the throne. Estimated to have taken over 20 years to build, it was the tallest man-made structure in the world for over 3,800 years. Adorned with a dazzling yellow crystal, this newest edition once again depicts the pharaoh’s birth name as well as his throne name in hieroglyph style. Only 1,500 coins in total will be minted.
