It was originally used in suspension lines of US parachutes during World War 2, hence the name ‘paracord’. It is made from 100% nylon with a 7 strand nylon core and braided nylon outer. By pulling out the internal strands you can turn 50m into hundreds of metres of cordage. It is lightweight, strong and compact, ideal for taking when travelling and is incredibly versatile meaning it is particularly popular amongst campers and outdoor pursuits enthusiasts.
